The Sun is only one of the hundreds of billions of stars in the Galaxy. There are 56 star systems within 16 light-years from the Sun. These star systems include 60 stars, 13 brown dwarfs, and 4 white dwarfs. The nearest star to the Sun is Alpha Centauri.
