When we look into the night sky, it appears to us on Earth as if all the star are on a single surface, so it is difficult to know how far each of them is from Earth. Stars that we think are very close may actually be much farther away.

The stars in this display are arranged in proportion to their actual distance. When you look through the peephole, you will see a familiar night sky. But when you actually walk into the display, you’ll see that the actual distribution of the stars is quite different than you might have thought.
