Discovery of the uranus and neptune

Audio Guide:

Uranus was discovered by British astronomer Frederick William Herschel in 1781. After that, scientists found that Uranus’s observed orbit is inconsistent with their calculated prediction. Applying Newton’s celestial mechanics to analyze the disruption of Uranus’s orbit, scientists were able to predict the gravitational tug of Neptune. This is how Neptune was discovered.
