Space transportation system
Space transportation system
Audio Guide:
A space aircraft carrier refers to an aircraft that can transport objects from Earth to the outer space. Among all types of space aircraft carriers, space shuttles that can be used repeatedly are the most well-known. In 1981, Space Shuttle Columbia became the first one to carry people into the space and orbited Earth 37 times. After 54.5 hours of flight, the space shuttle safely returned to Earth. Although space shuttles are no longer used, the development of new types of rockets is also aiming for reuse. In the future, humans can take aircrafts like space airplanes to conduct space travels.
Exhibit Introduction:
The exhibit displays the insulation board of space shuttles with graphic panels introducing types of space transportation.
