½ Cup Diced Ham (Lyke’s is
good and sold in smaller portions,
pre-cooked)
1 Cup Peeled, Sliced Onions
1 Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Pepper
1 Tablespoon Margarine
1 Tablespoon Flour
1 Cup Milk
1 Egg
Cinnamon
1 Crust flaky Pastry (from freezer case ok)
Fry the ham until yellowed in the margarine.
Then add onions, salt, sugar, and pepper.
Cover and steam slowly for 8 minutes.
Do not let onions brown, Take the 1 Tablespoon
soup and gravy flour and blend in a small amount
of the cold milk then add rest of milk. Beat egg and
add to flour/milk mixture. Stir this into the ham/onion
mixture and sprinkle with tiny bit of cinnamon. Pour
into crust – lined pie plate. Bake in a preheated 400
degree oven for first 10 minutes. Then reduce heat
to about 350 degrees and bake about 30 minutes –
Test with knife in center till comes clean.
