The hero component is used to create an impactful and inspiring introduction to the page. It displays the page topic and any relevant information required to give users context about the page
Various heroes are used across the different templates to highlight key content
The standard hero is used across the following templates: magazine article, quiz, campaign page and competitions
Standard hero content:
Image
Title
Subtitle (optional)
Read time (optional)
Date (optional)
County map (optional)
Widths available: full width
To edit the standard hero content:
Ensure that you are on your local market flag
Click on the parent item of the page (image, title, subtitle, read time and publication date are edited here)
Edit the title and subtitle using the free text fields
To choose a hero image click browse on the image field and select your upload image from the media library. You should check your hero image on mobile also to make sure it is displaying as expected, if you need to override the mobile version of the hero, see here.
Hero images must be 1900px and have a 16:9 aspect ratio
To add a read time and publication date scroll down to the data section of the parent item
Enter an estimated read time into the read time field. You only need to enter a numeric value in this field as the "x min read" text will be applied automatically in the relevant language
Add a publication date using the date picker field
Click save
To edit the map:
In the content editor click on the default hero component
Scroll down to the map image field and from the drop-down choose the county/region map you want to display e.g. County Kerry
To remove the map form the hero, clear the selected map from the dropdown menu
Click save and publish
