Once logged in, you will be presented with the Sitecore Experience Platform screen:

Select 'Desktop' from the Control Panel section, this will take you to the desktop view:

Select the 'Content Editor' to begin using this feature of CMS

Desktop view will allow you to have multiple tabs open at once like a browser i.e. the Content Editor and the Media Library
