Once you have completed your competition form please perform the following checks/steps to ensure it is GDPR compliant:
Check your form and ensure that you are not collecting any data beyond what is required. Standard competition form fields are name and email address. If you need to collect data in addition to these please raise this with websitesupport@tourismireland.com giving your reasoning as to why the data is required
Ensure that you link your competition’s terms and conditions from your page using the following inline link (replace # with your terms and conditions URL):
I have read and agree to the terms & conditions.*
i.e. I have read and agree to the terms & conditions.*
If you are collecting email addresses in your form, ensure that you insert the following copy in your local language as a tooltip on your form:
We will only use your email to contact you if you win a prize. If you also sign up to our newsletters, we will use your email to send you personalised content based on how you interact with this website and our advertisements on other websites.
Tooltip notices will appear as an overlay on the related form field as shown below:
To add a tooltip to an email address field on your form, follow the steps below:
In the forms manager click on the email field in your form
Scroll down to the tooltip hover text field in the general tab
Enter the GDPR notice into the field as it is written above and click “apply”
Click save to update the changes on your form
Request for your form to be published to your market language as you normally would
Note: if you have been given approval to include additional personal data fields outside of email and name then website support will provide you with the copy for the GDPR notices for the additional fields. This copy can be applied to other fields using the method above.
4. If you are including a checkbox on your form to encourage email opt ins (see screenshot example below) then please ensure that you use the following copy in your local market language along with an inline link for your market:
Yes, please send me free email newsletters from Tourism Ireland, including regular updates on holiday ideas and deals, that are personalised to me based on my use of this website, Tourism Ireland’s advertising on other websites using cookies and tracking pixels. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking 'unsubscribe' in our emails. Find out more information on “How we handle your personal data” in our privacy policy.

5. Once your form is complete send it to websitesupport@tourismireland.com who will test the form and check it over from a GDPR compliance perspective. Once Website Support have reviewed the form they will then ask you to contact Jackie Gillan and Jane Johnston to get final approval on the form before it is published to live - this must be completed for every competition
To ensure necessary time for technical/GDPR compliance checks to be completed on the form we ask that you give website support as much notice as possible in advance of your go live date
