The Card Grid is a component used to display information from two different perspectives. It offers users the ability to filter down content items, as well as the option to toggle between a Map View and List View (either view can be turned off can checking the tick box in Sitecore). The filtered Card Grid can display multiple content types, for example, destinations; events; accommodation; trip ideas; offers; attractions and article items
Any items used that do not have an assigned longitude and latitude or taxonomy location will not appear on the map view (i.e. an article card)
Widths available: full width
The module can be used to display both relevant editorial content from Sitecore and tourism products e.g. hotels, attractions which are pulled from Tourism Northern Ireland and Fáilte Ireland
When you add the card grid module to your page in the content editor, right-click on the module and select insert “extended container” (you will only need to do this once)
To add a piece of editorial content to the module e.g. Belfast destination page - right-click on the extended container in the content editor and insert an extended page
Search for the piece of editorial content you are looking for within the search box eg. Belfast. To preview the item you are selecting, highlight it in the left box and select “go to item”
When you find the item you are looking for double click to select it and the selected items should appear in the right-hand box
To add a tourism product to the module: e.g Guinness Storehouse - right-click on the module in the content editor and insert an extended product
Search for the product name and use the preview feature to check you have the correct product selected
Double-click so that the select product appears in the right-hand box
Only one item can be added per extended page/extended product. If you wish to add an additional item then you must right-click on the module and insert another extended product or page
Extended products/pages added to the module must have an item selected for the module to publish to the page
There is now functionality to add local products to editorial maps through extended editorial map cards.
In order to create your local product, give details of:
Image
Title
Subtitle (optional)
URL (optional)
URL CTA (optional)
Location
Once your product has been created, to add it to the editorial map on your page:
Right-click on the extended container within the editorial map, insert an extended editorial map card
Select your card from the list available
Save and publish your changes as normal
