Romans 8:18-27
Future Glory
18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed. 20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope 21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.
22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. 23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. 24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has? 25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.
26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.
St. Paul tells us life gives us sufferings...But like many days in our lives, the days are forgotten...We have little recollection of many of the our days...In all of our lives, we have sufferings and struggles...What we go through on earth will not compare to what will be revealed to us...The future glory awaits us...
Death had always led to decay and finality...God created all things and through our free will, we quickly fell...We sinned while in the garden of Eden...God had given us paradise...But we sinned and the fall of man changed everything...God banished us from the garden...We were not allowed to eat from the tree of life... The tree that would allow us to live forever...After God drove man out of paradise the winged angels, called cherubim, guarded the tree of life, so we could not get to it, to have eternal life...
Now we have a new Tree of Life...God has always loved us...God has sent His only son, who died for us...This Tree of Life we can reach...For in this hope, we are saved...
For unto us a child was born, Immanuel, which means God with us...If the Spirit is with us and in us then, Jesus is with us and in us... If we follow His Spirit and He is in us, then we follow our faith...Then God is in us...
St. Paul tells us that often we don't know what to pray and we need help...The Spirit in us, (it) helps us in our absence and weakness...God cares for us, we are not alone, Immanuel and God are with us...
Our Father knows our struggles and sufferings from the start... He loves us so much that He has the Spirit intercede for us and (It) groans and prays for us in a way that mere mortal words cannot express...We may not even be aware of the Spirit's prayer...We may not know what we should be praying...But the Spirit is there in us, praying for us to do God's will...He is like the true Father...
God is there...God is with us...This is just an idea of how much He LOVES us...
