Romans 5:12-21
Salvation and Eternal Life Through Jesus
12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all people, because all sinned—
13 To be sure, sin was in the world before the law was given, but sin is not charged against anyone’s account where there is no law. 14 Nevertheless, death reigned from the time of Adam to the time of Moses, even over those who did not sin by breaking a command, as did Adam, who is a pattern of the one to come.
15 But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of the one man, how much more did God’s grace and the gift that came by the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many! 16 Nor can the gift of God be compared with the result of one man’s sin: The judgment followed one sin and brought condemnation, but the gift followed many trespasses and brought justification. 17 For if, by the trespass of the one man, death reigned through that one man, how much more will those who receive God’s abundant provision of grace and of the gift of righteousness reign in life through the one man, Jesus Christ!
18 Consequently, just as one trespass resulted in condemnation for all people, so also one righteous act resulted in justification and life for all people. 19 For just as through the disobedience of the one man the many were made sinners, so also through the obedience of the one man the many will be made righteous.
20 The law was brought in so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21 so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through on man named Adam sin entered the world...And the wages of sin became death, and in this way death came to everyone, because we all have sinned...God created the sacrifice to take away our sins but not death, for the wages of sin is death...Before Jesus the priest performed duties and sacrifices to take away our sins...Then Jesus was born and God is with us...“Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins...But when this Priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, He sat down at the right hand of God...For by One Sacrifice He has made perfect forever those who are being made holy”...
Jesus was the Perfect Sacrifice...A believer in Jesus receives the Great Gift of forgiveness...Man's disobedience to our Father, his flaws, and his sins are taken care of with Jesus' death on the cross — past, present, and future!...The blood and righteousness of Jesus has saved us...We are saved by what our Savior did, not by anything we have done...His salvation is a Gift of God...God's Grace brings us Salvation...His Son's death pays the penalty for our sins...And these things show God's LOVE for us...Because God could have sent His Son to condemn us, but instead He sent His Son to earth not to save those who think that they are righteous...God sent His Son to and for sinners for whoever believes in Him and the One who sent Him shall have eternal life with Them...Death was swallowed up with Jesus' death...Jesus overcame this world with His death...He died, yet He rose from His death...And now God has set a day when His Son will judge the world with justice by the man He has appointed...He has given proof of this to everyone by raising Him from the dead...That is why His Son said I AM the Truth, the Way, and the Life...No one gets to the Father, except through me...Salvation is found is no one else except Jesus...
We have been justified by our faith in Jesus...We have peace with God through our LORD Jesus, through whom we have gained access by faith into God's Grace in which we now stand...And we boast in the hope of the Glory of God...Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character produces hope...And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s LOVE has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us...You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Jesus died for the ungodly and for sinners...Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die...But God demonstrates His Own LOVE for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us...Since we have now been justified by His blood on the cross, how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him!...For if, while we were God’s enemies in our sins, we were reconciled to Him through the death of His Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through His Life!...Not only is this so, but we also boast in God through our LORD Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation with God...
Jesus came to earth to save sinners and to take away man's sins...He was given the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins...And when He died on the cross that is what He did...But you know that Jesus came to earth to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin...No one who remains in Him keeps on sinning....Believers do not want to sin and they struggle with sin...Although believers want to do good, evil is right there with us, clinging, hanging on, and tempting us...For in our inner being we delight in God’s Way and His Son's Teachings...But there is something else at work in us, waging war against the law of our mind which makes us a prisoner of sin at work within each of us...What wretched men we are!...Look at the sin around all of us...Who will rescue us from our bodies that are subject to death?...Thanks be to God, who delivers us through Jesus Christ our LORD!...
