Romans 3:10-11
No One Seeks the LORD
10 As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one; 11 there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God.
Deuteronomy 4:29-31
Seek God with Your Heart
29 But if from there you seek the LORD your God, you will find him if you seek him with all your heart and with all your soul. 30 When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey him. 31 For the LORD your God is a merciful God; he will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which he confirmed to them by oath.
The Psalmist wrote that the LORD looks down from heaven on the children of man, to see if there are any who understand, who seek after God...They have all turned aside; together they have become corrupt; there is none who does good, not even one....And St. Paul said something similar in his letter to the Romans as it is written: “None is righteous, no, not one; no one understands; no one seeks for God...All have turned aside; together they have become worthless; no one does good, not even one.”...So no one naturally seeks God, God seeks us...He first sought Adam and Eve as they hid in the Garden of Eden after they had sinned, and He has been seeking His lost LOVED ones ever since...Jesus said this: “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”...
But God LOVES us and in Deuteronomy He tells us that if we seek the LORD your God, you will find Him if you seek Him with all your heart and with all your soul...When you are in distress and all these things have happened to you, then in later days you will return to the LORD your God and obey Him...For the LORD your God is a merciful God; He will not abandon or destroy you or forget the covenant with your ancestors, which He confirmed to them by His oath...Let us take heart of His LOVE...For God so LOVES the world that He gave His One and Only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life...For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him...
