Romans 1:18-20
God's Greatness in Creation
18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.
Psalm 145:1-21
A psalm of praise. Of David.
1 I will exalt you, my God the King;
I will praise your name for ever and ever.
2 Every day I will praise you
and extol your name for ever and ever.
3 Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise;
his greatness no one can fathom.
4 One generation commends your works to another;
they tell of your mighty acts.
5 They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty—
and I will meditate on your wonderful works.
6 They tell of the power of your awesome works—
and I will proclaim your great deeds.
7 They celebrate your abundant goodness
and joyfully sing of your righteousness.
8 The Lord is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and rich in love.
9 The Lord is good to all;
he has compassion on all he has made.
10 All your works praise you, Lord;
your faithful people extol you.
11 They tell of the glory of your kingdom
and speak of your might,
12 so that all people may know of your mighty acts
and the glorious splendor of your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
The Lord is trustworthy in all he promises
and faithful in all he does.
14 The Lord upholds all who fall
and lifts up all who are bowed down.
15 The eyes of all look to you,
and you give them their food at the proper time.
16 You open your hand
and satisfy the desires of every living thing.
17 The Lord is righteous in all his ways
and faithful in all he does.
18 The Lord is near to all who call on him,
to all who call on him in truth.
19 He fulfills the desires of those who fear him;
he hears their cry and saves them.
20 The Lord watches over all who love him,
but all the wicked he will destroy.
21 My mouth will speak in praise of the Lord.
Let every creature praise his holy name
for ever and ever.
God and Nature so closely related...God is seen in all of nature, which in itself is Creation...And we learn about God's Creation in the first book of the Bible...When we look at Creation we first think, or at least I do, what I can see...But Creation is more...When God created the universe He revealed many things about His Nature and His Character...King David tells us in one of his Psalms how Great is our LORD...Yet, in God's Greatness and the things of Creation and Nature, no one can fathom Him...
The Book of the Bible is considered to be both human and Divine...God's written Word is inspired by Himself...The Bible's writings are believed to have come from a collaboration and inspired moments between humanity and God...The Book of Genesis tells us how God created the universe...Genesis describes how God created the earth, plants, animals, all things in it, and Adam and Eve...Genesis tells how God originally created a Paradise for the first man and woman...And then Genesis tells the story of Adam and Eve being expelled from the Garden of Eden for eating from the tree of knowledge...
But there is more...When we look at Creation and Nature, we see God's Greatness...In Creation, we can see God, who created all things are tangible things we see...But also, God's in the Creation of Nature we see and feel and think about other things, the intangibles...We can see nature in an awe-inspiring way...Even to the point of Nature being almost incomprehensible, such as the lilies of the field and the beautiful setting of the sun...Even the invisible qualities of nature and the small, micro things that we cannot see—we can see God's Eternal Power, His Great Design, and Divine Nature...We can see His Divine Power in His creation of the intangible and Spiritual Things such as Grace and Truth...We see God in Faith, Hope, and Love - and these things we cannot see...And since these have been clearly wrote about in Scripture, we can see and feel love, hope, faith, mercy and justice in the world...We can see God in these these things...They are fingerprints of God...Because the Great Intangible Things like Love, Mercy, Forgiveness, and Grace, we can better understand God what all has been made and Created...These include both the tangible and intangible things of all the universe...God created all things, so that people are without excuse in believing in Him...The tangibles as well as the intangibles...The absolute beauty of a sunrise, the pure beauty of the blue skies, and all the different kind of animals in the wild, forgiveness of others, God's Grace, love for a spouse give witness to a Creator and the Great Designer of all things and of everything...For what may be known about God is plain to see and feel, because God has made it easy to see, feel, think about and reflect on these things that He created.…
Augustine of Hippo said: “Some people, in order to discover God, read books...But there is a great book: the very appearance of created things...Look above you!...Look below you!...Read it...God, whom you want to discover, never wrote that book with ink...Instead, He set before your eyes the things that He had made...Can you ask for a louder voice than that?”...
