1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
Pray Without Ceasing
16 Rejoice always, 17 pray continually, 18 give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
Romans 2:7
Persistent on Doing Good
7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, Seek, Knock
7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.
Jesus teaches us to be persistent in our search for God...In Matthew, Jesus teaches us to not only to ask, because at times that may not be enough...He also tells us to after asking, we may need to start seeking...Then after seeking, if the our answer is still not there for us -then we must knock...For after we are persistent in our prayers and ask, then seek, then knock on God's door, it will be opened to us...
St. Paul in following Jesus' teachings, also tells us to be persistent...This is good especially in our prayers...We should rejoice always, and pray continually...We should give thanks in all circumstances...In all circumstances St. Paul wants us to be focused on God...When things are going well, are faith maybe stronger, but St. Paul reminds us even in our bad times give thanks to God, for this is His will for us in our LORD Jesus Christ...Even when our doubts and hopes are ebbed to their lows, St. Paul teaches us to give thanks...And for those who are persistent and doing good will seek His glory, and His honor and His immortality, then He will give us eternal life...
We must be persistent in our lives and in our prayers...If we pray only infrequently like once or twice a year, we may not have a close relationship with Jesus...We need to be persistent in our lives seeking God...If we pray everyday to God our day will be better...If we spend time everyday with Him, then we will be more grounded...Our days may not be without grief or troubles, but God is there for us and gives us hope in our day...
