Romans 3:21-26
21 But now a righteousness from God, apart from law, has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. 22 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, 23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, 24 and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. 25 God presented him as a sacrifice of atonement, through faith in his blood. He did this to demonstrate his justice, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— 26 he did it to demonstrate his justice at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus.
Jesus was the Perfect Human and taught, healed and helped others, when He dwelt and walked on earth...The average man cannot do what Jesus did, because He is Perfect...And those wanting to follow Him find His road very narrow to follow and we stumble off His road at times...Jesus being Perfect and wanting to follow Him, shows how we fall short of the glory of God...And because we both fall short of God's Glory and we still try to follow Him makes others take note of how well we follow His teachings...And the truth of this matter, is that we do not do a very good job of following His acts and His teachings, or at least I do not...And because our example is short of our LORD's, others wonder why we cannot "just follow Him"...Our struggles with sin, desires, our want of material things make us look as though we are not following Him, or at least, we are not following Him very well...And the non-believer and unbelieving world sees this and wonders and ponders about our lack in our efforts to follow our Teacher...Both believers and the non-believer is a part of this broken world...
Author and Priest Brennan Manning said this about these things and about atheism: “The greatest single cause of atheism in the world today is Christians: who acknowledge Jesus with their lips, walk out the door, and deny Him by their lifestyle...That is what an unbelieving world simply finds unbelievable.”...
