Microsoft Apps

All students have access to Microsoft apps through their Pierpont account through Pierpont's Portal, where their ROAR account is located

NOTE:

When you leave Pierpont, you will lose access to these apps as you no longer will be a student and your student account will be disabled.  So, you should save the stored information in another place before that time.

When you log on to your Office 365 by clicking on the Office 365 picture, you will go to the Office 365 main page.

Many of the Microsoft apps are in the menu on the left side.  You can click on the apps that you want or you can access other apps as shown below.  There are many apps available, so look through them to see which ones might be helpful for you.  There is information about some of the apps below.

Many of the Microsoft apps are created for use in a business environment and have functions made for working with others as a team.

Word is Microsoft's word processing program.

Excel is Microsoft's spreadsheet program.

PowerPoint is Microsoft's presentation program.

Most programs require their students to complete a business class Computer Concepts (ex., BUSN 1100), which previously was named OFAD.  This class teaches how to use the Microsoft programs.  You might want to take this right away if you are not familiar with these programs as some classes use these.

OneNote

This app provides more note-taking options than using Word. For example, you can add reminder notes and, using your finger or a stylus, write on the contents.

Teams

If you need to connect with someone online, you can use your Teams app.  When a class meets online or an instructor wants to meet with you, they frequently used Teams.  It is somewhat like Zoom or Google Meet.
