Peg Word

The object in using this system is to build associations with numbers and key words that rhyme with the numbers. The numbers are the "pegs" on which you hang the key words.

When you add mnemonic images, the image helps you remember the target key word.

It takes practice, and the trick is to not remember the rhyme but the association!

Example: bun = one;

shoe = two,

tree = three,

door = four,

hive = five, etc.

Another example is remembering the 4 basic food groups: dairy; meat, fish, and poultry; grains; and fruit and vegetables .
