To help determine what type of career is a good fit for you, it can help to assess who you are and what skills you currently have.
Then you check the careers you are interested in to see which ones best match who you are and what you want to do.
This activity is the first step. It helps you assess yourself and your skills.
There are 4 assessments:
My interests
Personality Trait List
My Values (things that are important to you)
Skills Assessment
Assessments won't give you a definite answer about what job is best for you.
They can give you options to explore, which narrow down your list to better match your interests, skills, and traits.
Whether looking for your first job or changing jobs, knowing what you like to do makes job searching easier and more effective.
Click on an assessment below to open it as a PDF document. Then, click on the arrow on the upper right to print it.
You can do the assessments in any order.
As you do the assessments, check the boxes that match your first thoughts.

Skills Assessment
The second activity is thinking about a job/career. When you are done with the assessments, make a list of things that your job needs to have or that you prefer your job to have. These can include:
a certain salary
the job market (jobs available in your area) for the career
ability to advance to a higher paying job
specific healthcare coverage
a certain amount of paid time off
no travel
an office in a specific location
not remote (not working at home)
not being required to do certain tasks (check the job's essential functions)
