PvP Events
While PVP is infrequent during missions, specific crew actions can lead to inevitable conflicts.
Deinfluencing: After reducing an opposed crew's island influence to zero, crews may engage in combat to determine dominance over the island. The terms of combat, whether lethal or non-lethal, are chosen to resolve the conflict. This happens immediately and you tag an @Admin to take care of it.
Tracking & Evading: At the conclusion of each game week, the downtime activity points (DTA) allocated to Tracking and Evading are tallied. If a crew is tracked, these are tracked in the metric of crews vs crews and individuals vs individuals. The captains or individuals agree on the appropriate "terms of combat" and engage in the conflict as outlined. Beware, once you've successfully tracked, you are locked in to an encounter of some degree.
(Note: In the aftermath of a PVP combat, the crew that suffered a non-lethal defeat will be subject to a restriction on influencing islands through downtime activities for a duration of one week.)
Flagged for PvP
There are a few actions that lead to you being able to be tracked down or engaged with through the various PvP methods in the game.
Achieving Rookie status as a Pirate or Officer status as a Marine: through promotion and responsible or infamy you've grown enough to be considered a threat from the opposing faction, gaining these ranks automatically flags you for PvP
Reaching server level cap: after reaching server cap (Currently level 5) you become auto flagged for PvP
Being a part of a Crew that has reached the threshold of Tier 1 influence on an island: Joining a crew that is taking action in the server automatically flags you for PvP
(Note: This means that a crew that has not met the T1 threshold of influence on an island would not be flagged even if the island of less that T1 that was de-influenced by an opposing faction or crew.) (edited)
Terms of PVP Combat
When PVP occurs, the captains of both crews will decide the mode of combat. If they cannot reach an agreement, a Moderator will roll to determine the type.
Champion: Both crews select a champion to represent them, and the champions engage in a battle. The winner decides the outcome of the PVP combat.
All-Out-Brawl: A specific number of crew members are chosen, and both crews send that many members to participate in a fight to determine the victor.
Naval: This is a variant of the all-out-brawl, where the two crews engage in naval combat following the rules detailed in the book. (WIP)
Davy Back Fight: This involves a best-of-three competition where crews take turns selecting mini-games to determine the victor. It is customary (but not obligatory) that after each game, the winning crew invites a member from the losing crew to join them. Consent from all players involved is essential when following this tradition. Please contact a moderator if you intend to engage in a Davy Back Fight.
Lethal PvP Outcomes
Lethal Combat Results You gain all of the berri & items from the slain enemy. & Gain half of the current mission equivalent to honor or bounty+ a die roll based on rank. (Example: 25 base + 1d4 * 10 or 1000 for blues)
De-influencing Enemy Crews Headquarters this action is considered the most threatening act of aggression on the game. It's a different PvP instance than de-influencing an non HQ island under an enemy control. A crews headquarters hold the crews assets & it's vault.
Death of the Captain If you slay the captain at their HQ you or your crew receive 40% of the crew's vault's Berri. The losing crew is then forced to have a member step up as captain or forcefully disband the crew. (If the Crew lacks the points to train into captain the crew is disbanded.
Crew member Kill If you kill any other member you or your crew receives 15% of the vault's Berri.
Total Annihilation By completely slaying the crew or causing the crew to disband, you may take over the enemy crew's vault. Gaining 100% of its assets.
Conduct Guidelines
No Griefing: Crews are expected to engage in fair play, and out of game griefing will not be tolerated. Respect the spirit of the game and fellow players.
Pre-Combat Decision: Crews must decide beforehand if the PvP battle will be lethal or non-lethal.
(Note: Understand that in certain RP scenarios, a forced lethal option may be introduced to enhance the narrative, mid-late game)
Weekly Sparring
If you nonlethal spar pvp with another player and roleplay the encounter, you may claim 3 AP for the activity. You may do this once per week per character, and the week resets on whatever 12 AM Monday means to you.
