Level 3 — Cold Affinity
You have developed a deep connection to the cold, enhancing your combat abilities with winter’s biting chill.
Cold Affinity: You gain an elemental affinity with cold. You can change the damage type of any firearm you wield to cold damage at will. Additionally, you gain resistance to cold damage, further embodying the harsh resilience of winter.
Arctic Mobility: You ignore the effects of difficult terrain caused by ice, snow, or other cold-related hazards. You are immune to environmental effects from cold weather, allowing you to move through icy landscapes unhindered.
Level 6 — Chilling Precision
Your mastery of cold energy enhances the precision of your shots, allowing you to immobilize your targets with chilling accuracy.
Frozen Mark: When you hit a creature with a ranged firearm attack that deals cold damage, the target’s movement speed is reduced by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the target is already affected by cold damage from a previous attack, their speed is reduced by 20 feet instead.
This ability enables you to control the battlefield, slowing down multiple foes and leaving them vulnerable to further attacks.
Level 10 — Glacial Focus
Your ability to harness cold energy has reached new heights, allowing you to chill enemies to their core and gain advantage in tactical situations.
Glacial Focus: Whenever you deal cold damage to a creature with a ranged firearm attack, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Intelligence or Dexterity modifier (your choice). This bonus stacks, but the temporary hit points disappear after 1 minute if not used.
Icy Calm: Once per long rest, you can enter a state of heightened awareness for 1 minute, where your critical hit range with cold-infused firearm attacks increases by 1 (e.g., from 20 to 19-20).
Level 13 — Frost Shot
Your cold-infused shots now have the ability to alter the terrain, affecting enemies’ movements and strategy.
Frost Shot: Once per turn, when you hit a creature with a firearm attack dealing cold damage, you can freeze the ground in a 10-foot radius around the target. This area becomes difficult terrain for all creatures except you and your allies until the end of your next turn.
Chilling Burst: If the target is reduced to 0 hit points by your attack, the difficult terrain created by Frost Shot becomes hazardous to other enemies. Any creature entering the area for the first time or starting its turn there must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = Special DC) or take cold damage equal to your weapon’s damage dice.
This makes your cold shots even more impactful, turning a small area into a deadly trap.
Level 17 — Winter's Bite
You can call upon the most brutal aspects of winter to paralyze your enemies.
Winter’s Bite: When you hit a creature with a ranged firearm attack dealing cold damage, you can spend 2 Focus to force the target to make a Constitution saving throw (DC = Special DC). On a failed save, the target is paralyzed until the start of your next turn. A creature can attempt to break free from this paralysis early by taking an action to succeed on the saving throw.
This ability allows you to neutralize powerful enemies for a short time, giving you and your allies a strategic advantage.
Level 20 — Arctic Sniper
Your mastery of cold has reached its peak, and your shots can now freeze enemies in place with devastating precision.
Arctic Sniper: Whenever you score a critical hit with a firearm attack dealing cold damage, the target is frozen in place until the end of your next turn. Their movement speed becomes 0 and cannot be increased by any means, and they are considered restrained for the duration.
Permafrost Precision: Once per long rest, you can imbue a shot with the raw power of winter. When you hit a creature with a cold-infused firearm attack, the target and all creatures within 10 feet of it must make a Constitution saving throw (DC = Special DC). On a failed save, the creatures are stunned until the start of your next turn.
