Answer:The Sun's feet according to the poet refers to the rays of the sun that fall on the Earth. As there are no trees the sunrays are not hidden and fall directly to the ground just like a human's long feet.

Answer:In the poem, the trees are trapped in the poet's house. Their roots work all night to separate themselves from the cracks in the veranda floor. The leaves try very hard to move towards the grass and put a lot of pressure on it therefore breaking it. The small twigs get stiff with exertion.
What does the poet compare their branches to?
Answer:They are compared to newly discharged patients of a clinic. The large branches of the trees become cramped due to the roof above them and when they are left free they rush stumblingly to the outside world. So they are compared with discharged patients who also look dazed.
What are the different ways the moon is described in the poem?
Answer:At the beginning of the third stanza, the poet says that the full moon is shining in an open sky at night. At the end of the stanza, she describes that the moon breaks into pieces like a broken mirror and shines on the head of the tallest oak tree.

Answer:When the trees move out of the house the glasses break and the whispers the leaves make vanish, leaving the house silent.
Why do you think the poet does not mention their departure?
Answer:Perhaps the poet feels that it is humans who don't care for nature and so may not be interested in knowing about the efforts made by trees to set themselves free.

Answer:Just like trees, humans too want to break away from the shackles of their buy and selfish lives. They also want to go out in the open and be free without their own responsibilities. So, we can say that she has compared human life with trees.
