Gradually, the dog's health started improving, and he did not require any medicine to recover soon.
Why is he tempted to keep Tricki on as a permanent guest?
Answer:Mrs. Pumphrey started to send fresh eggs, two dozen at a time to build up Tricki's strength. Later, even bottles of wine & brandy began to arrive in the hospital. Why does Mrs. Pumphrey think the dog's recovery is 'A Triumph of Surgery'?
Answer:Mrs. Pumphrey initially thought that Tricki was seriously ill, so when she consulted Dr. Herriot, he asked her to send Tricki to the hospital. The doctor successfully made the dog recover & completely normal within two weeks. She was glad Tricki had been transformed into a rigid, flexible & hard-muscled animal.
