After the party when they arrived home Mme Loisel looked at herself in a mirror to take a final view of herself with the necklace. She was shocked to find the necklace missing. Both looked for the necklace in the folds of her dress, in the pockets, but couldn't find it. M Loisel went along the path from where they had returned searching for it. He went to the cab officers, and the police station, and finally put an advertisement in the newspaper, offering a reward. After waiting all day, they discovered no information about the necklace and they thought of replacing it with a new one.
How do they replace the necklace?
Answer:
After losing all the hopes. They decided to go to the jewelry shop to buy a necklace exactly like the one they had lost. They needed 36000 francs to buy the diamond necklace Loisel had 18000 francs which his father had left him. He had to borrow the rest of the money at a very high-interest rate from the moneylenders. He bought a new necklace and handed it over to Mme Forestier.
The course of the Loisel's life changed due to the necklace. Comment.
Answer:
Mme Loisel thought that the necklace was of real diamonds and expensive. They borrowed money from lenders for a high rate of interest to pay back the debt they had forgotten the little comfort of life. They rented away the maid, changed their lodging, and rented some rooms in the attic. Matilda had no assistance in her domestic work and went to the groceries herself to save a little money. M Loisel worked day and night at several odd jobs to earn little money. The work pressure therefore made them older by 10 years. M Loisel and Mme Loisel couldn't have ruined their life if they knew that the necklace was neither made up of real diamonds nor expensive. For a long period of time, they were under constant pressure to repay heavy sums of money.
