Higgledie Company is a system that allows you to equip a certain number of higgledies for a series of passive stat boosts. Different higgledies provide different stat boosts, allowing you to build specialized decks for various uses. Higgledies can also be leveled up and upgraded, providing yet more stat boosts and opportunities for custom loadouts.
The Higgledie Company screen shows your equipped higgledies making a series of hats. Here you can access all the various features of Higgledie Company, as well as view the current CP boost your Higgledie Company loadout provides.
To acquire higgledies, you will need higgledie recruitment letters. These come from a variety of sources.
The most consistent source is to buy the 14-day Higgledie login bonus box (100,000 gold) which provide both recruitment letters and training papers.
A premium version of the pass is also available and can be re-purchased whenever the previous pass has been completed.
Recruitment letters may also be provided as a reward from Swift Solutions, and as rewards from specific events. High-grade recruitment letters can also be purchased directly in the shop.
You can equip up to 8 higgledies, after completing several steps:
6 Higgledies: available by default
7th Higgledie: After completing main story in Rainbow Valley
8th Higgledie: After completing main story in Atrasia Ruins
Make sure to toggle on the abilities panel (left) and selection panel (right). The selection panel on the right allows you to select/deselect the higgledies you want to put in your build. Make sure to hit confirm to finalize your selection changes.
You'll want to select higgledies based on several factors:
Base stat boosts
Ability points
Set bonuses
Each higgledie has two different base stats it provides. The first is usually a flat stat like attack, defense, or HP, while the second is usually an elemental boost to elemental attack or elemental defense. Be sure to double-check what element the defense provides. Some higgledies provide own-element defense (i.e. a fire higgledie that provides a fire defense boost) while others provide inferior-element defense (i.e. a fire higgledie that provides a wood defense boost.) When building your teams, don't just stack all higgledies of the same element without checking the second base stat.
Each higgledie has up to 3 abilities, and a certain number of points in each ability. By combining these stats, you can level up different ability boosts. It takes 8 ability points per boost level, and any points above 80 (level 10 boost) are ignored (in the above screenshot, defense is overleveled and capped at level 10).
Boosts include increased attack, defense, HP, dodge rate, critical rate, etc., so balance out your ability points based on whether you want to focus on specific abilities or spread them out for more general all-round boosts.
Certain combinations of higgledies will provide set bonuses with unique boosts. For example, equipping 2 higgledies under the "Knights' Descendants" group provides a boost to all equipped higgledies' defense stats.
Equipping more than the required higgledies for a set does not increase its boost, so try to spread out your selection to get multiple set bonuses instead.
Higgledies can be leveled up, and once a higgledie reaches 100%, their star level can be upgraded, up to 6*. This boosts their base stats, but does not change their ability points.
Higgledies are leveled up by feeding them other higgledies. Although each higgledie has an associated element, using higgledies of the same element does not provide bonus experience like weapons, so feel free to use any excess low-star higgledies in this step.
Once a higgledie reaches 100%, you can increase its star level. This requires 2 copies of that higgledie at the same star level.
This means that upgrading a 4* higgledie to 6* requires a total of 9 copies:
1 base copy (+1)
2 copies at 4* to increase the base copy to 5* (+2)
2 copies at 5* to increase the base copy to 6* (+6)
Training higgledies is indepedent of their star level, and provides both a boost to base stats as well as unlocking/upgrading its ability points.
Training a higgledie requires a certain number of training papers in that element. Each level requires an increasing number of pages and gold, and has a higher failure rate. The maximum level is 10.
Key training levels are:
1 (unlocks second ability slot)
3 (unlocks third ability slot)
5 (boosts ability points in slots)
7 (boosts ability points in slots)
Note that ability slots are assigned randomly and ability point boosts are also random. There is no way (currently) to reroll them, short of starting with a new copy of that higgledie.
If you don't want certain higgledies, dismissing them is a good way to get training papers.
You can select higgledies manually or use the auto-select feature to select specific groups of higgledies based on star level or element.
The higher the star level of the higgledie, the more papers you'll get from dismissing them.
There is a unique codex that tracks the Higgledies you've recruited as well as the star level you've upgraded them to.
Similar to other game codices, acquiring and upgrading higgledies provides a small set of permanent stat boosts and rewards, which you can see in the bottom left.
