Cross Field is a series of special dungeons that can only be accessed through the Battlefield menu. It is aimed at mid-to-high level players who have the combat power to tackle increasingly powerful mobs. Cross Field progression is tied to your time-space cube, which can be leveled up and boosted through drops gained from Cross Field.
Cross Field is named because it offers cross-server play. Each week on Thursday (usually coinciding with scheduled maintenance), the server groups are shuffled. Up to 4 servers will be grouped, and all members of those servers will enter the same instance of Cross Field. You can only join a party with other members from your server. There are special areas which a server can occupy, and provides extra benefits to that servers' members. Servers also compete in ranking during boss fights, with higher ranked servers winning temporary boosts to their players.
There are currently 2 available Cross Field dungeons: Aquarius Castle and Guardian Ruins. Each dungeon has its own time-space cube, requirements for entry and provide unique drops for its cube, food buffs, and unlocking/leveling mounts.
Aquarius Castle is the first dungeon and can be entered upon clearing a reputation quest in the Fritzmal Glacier, "To the Castle of Aquaris". You will need to be of sufficient level and combat power to clear main story quest in this zone first. This will grant you a time-space cube, and access to the Cross Field option in the menu (Main Menu > Battlefield > Cross Field).
Guardian Ruins requires your Aquarius Time-Space cube to be at level 330, at which point you will acquire the Guardian Ruins time-space cube needed to enter.
You need to acquire time in order to enter Cross Field. Every day at daily reset you accumulate 30 minutes; up to 3:30 per week. Additionally, you can purchase up to 6 unstable hourglasses in the Cross Field token exchange shop that, when used, recharge your timer by 10 minutes each (see screenshot to left.) This time must be used up before the weekly reset, or it will be lost.
A second type of Cross Field hourglass (stable hourglass) is typically purchased with real currency through various boost packs offered in the shop, but may occasionally be acquired as a reward. These also provide 10 minutes per hourglass when used, but this time remains in your pool until used (will not be lost if you do not use it by weekly reset.)
You can hold a maximum of 40 of each type of hourglass at a time. It is recommended to hold on to them until you are ready to go into Cross Field for an extended period of time, and only use as many as you want, to prevent any accidental resets of the timer.
Fighting the level boss does not require you to use Cross Field time.
When inside Cross Field, you can see the timer status (as well as details about the floor you are on) on the left side of the screen. This display can be toggled on/off by clicking on the <!> info icon.
From here, you can turn on and off the timer by checking or unchecking the box at the bottom of the infobox. This allows you to freely travel between areas or explore without using Cross Field time. Note that there is a 30 second delay after changing the timer status before you can change it again.
If you are fighting and your timer runs out, you will simply stop attacking/being attacked by monsters. You will not be kicked out of the dungeon - you are free to wander around and leave at your own pace.
As a note, if you are in a party, you can still buff/heal your party members even if your timer is stopped.
You can enter a level of Cross Field as long as you meet the minimum requirements and have time. The second through fourth levels require a minimum time-space pierce/resist value on the appropriate time-space cube, determined by the fragments equipped on your time-space cube. Food items which temporarily boost your time-space pierce/resist value are not sufficient to let you enter the level.
You can always enter a level at floor 1; however, if your server is currently occupying a floor, you can also enter directly there.

Cross Field levels are split into numerous floors. The early floors in a level are no-PK zones, meaning you can farm them without worry. Higher floors are free-PK zones, meaning there are no penalties for PKing and you may need to fight off other players to keep your spot. On the level's map, these are clearly indicated by blue zones (no-PK) or red zones (free-PK); additionally, when you are moving through the level, you will see green or red mists at the entrance to a floor, indicating whether it is a no-PK or free-PK floor.
Each floor has a power level recommendation, which can be reviewed on the Cross Fields overview for that level (tap on a specific floor to see its monsters, drops, and recommended power level.) If your time-space pierce/resist value does not meet the minimum recommended level for that floor, you will do little to no damage to monsters on that floor, regardless of your other combat power stats.
A level's minimap will indicate how effective you currently are against monsters on each floor. A green icon means your power level is sufficient for that floor; a yellow icon means your power level just just high enough for that floor; a red icon means your power level is not high enough and you will do little to no damage to those monsters.
In the above screenshot, floor 3 has green indicators meaning it is safe to farm. Floor 4 has yellow indicators meaning it is possible to farm, but extra care should be taken.
In the above screenshot, floor 4 has yellow indicators meaning it is possible to farm, but extra care should be taken. Floor 5 has red indicators, meaning it is not possible to damage monsters on this floor.
Each level has 2 floors which can be occupied by a server, noted by the horse icon on the level's map (both overview and minimap.) Every 5 hours, the floor becomes open for reoccupation. About 10 minutes before reoccupation starts, monsters will stop respawning on that floor. When reoccupation starts, the statuary in the center of the floor can be accessed. Members of the same server can power up the statuary together, but can be disrupted if attacked by other players. This makes reoccupancy battles an open PVP mode between servers: teaming up with other players from your server is recommended if you want to dive in. Since reoccupancy battles take place in free-PK zones, you do not have to worry about building up bad PK karma. Monsters will respawn once occupancy has been completed.
When a server successfully occupies a floor, all players on that server gain a few benefits:
Players from that server can enter Cross Field directly on that floor, instead of at floor 1.
Players from that server cannot be PK'd on that floor.
Once per occupancy period, a player from that server can access the statuary for a drop rate boost that lasts 30 minutes.
You can stack the duration of the bonuses if both floors are occupied by your server, for a 60 minute drop rate boost.
Here, a floor has been occupied by the player's server. You can see how long until the floor opens for the next occupancy battle.
The button on the bottom also allows the player to enter the level at this floor.Â
Here, a floor has been occupied by a different server than the player's. You can see how long until the floor opens for the next occupancy battle.
The button on the bottom is disabled becase non-server players cannot enter from there.
Each level has a boss floor as its highest floor. A boss will spawn every 12 hours; however this timer only starts after the boss is defeated. This means that the spawn time will shift, and each level may have slightly different spawn times depending on how quickly the boss on that floor was defeated during the last fight. You can always see when the boss will next appear on the Cross Field overview screen, just make sure you are reviewing the details for the level you want to fight in.
After major service maintenance, the first time the boss will spawn will be either 10am or 10pm JST, whichever is next after maintenance has completed. For example, if maintenance completed at 7am, the boss would next spawn at 10am. This prevents spawn time from shifting too far away from the general 10am/10pm time range.
If you travel to the boss floor itself, you'll see in the floor's quick info box how long it will be until the boss next appears.
Note that you do not need to use Cross Field time in order to fight the boss. In fact, it is recommended to turn off the timer before you fight the boss so you do not waste Cross Field time, and so you don't waste your efforts fighting the other monsters on the floor.
Although the boss appears on all channels, there is only 1 health bar which is shared by all instances of the boss across channels. It doesn't matter which channel you join to fight it, just make sure to get your hits in for credit.
Like other big boss monsters, Cross Field bosses have drops based on your (or your party's) contribution in damage to the boss, including the highest rank fragments for a level, rare rank fragments, and items which can be exchanged in Evermore for Money Ma'am tickets from Marina (which you can then use at Sona's shop.) Additionally, you'll get drops based on your server's ranking in damage points.
The boss on the 4th level of each Cross Field also drops materials that can be exchanged for a mount, or to level up that mount.
Aquarius: Eternal Flame mount
Guardian Ruins: Guardian of Eternity mount
In addition, the Guardian Ruins levels 2-4 bosses can drop Goldpaw costume items.
The server that does the most damage will get a Cross Field buff that temporarily boosts either time-space pierce or resist, general attack, and elemental attack (based on which boss was defeated), which lasts for about 90 minutes. Note that because this only boosts either pierce or resist, this buff cannot be used to gain enough stats to enter the next higher level, which requires both pierce and resist to be the same minimum value.
There are food items which can boost your Cross Field power, for 10 minutes each: nectars and turkish delights. Each dungeon has its own set of food buffs which only affect you when you are in that dungeon.
Red (Aquarius) and orange (Guardian Ruins) food items boost your attack and time-space pierce value. Blue (Aquarius) and green (Guardian Ruins) food items boost your defense and time-space resist value.
Nectars boost attack or defense by 200 and pierce or resist by 5. Turkish delights boost attack or defense by 300 and pierce or resists by 5%.
These foods can be crafted in your kingdom restaurant (if they have been unlocked by your kingdom maintainer) with ingredients dropped by monsters in Cross Fields. They are sometimes also given as rewards for various quests or missions.
Note that food items cannot be used to meet the minimum pierce/resist requirement for a level; that must be done with your base time-space cube.
Monsters in Cross Field can drop ice jewels, which you can spend in the Cross Field token shop. Each item in the shop has a weekly limit. Certain items are only available after you've entered a specific level.
There are separate token exchanges for Aquarius and Guardian Ruins tokens, although only Aquarius tokens can be exchanged for unstable hourglasses.
Each week you can get a free 10 minutes of Cross Field time from the Aquarius exchange in this shop.
Every so often, a treasure chest will spawn in Cross Field. It will appear on a specific floor on a specific channel, and a little notification will pop up with the exact details. If you open the channel menu, you'll also see a chest icon on any channel where a chest is available.
Only 1 chest appears per spawn event, and only for 10 minutes. It is first-come first-served -- only the first player to find it can claim it. It can have anywhere from 200-2500 ice jewels. Note that that there may be several concurrent spawn events, so there may be multiple floors or channels with an available chest to grab.
A second notification will pop up when the chest is either claimed or 10 minutes have passed, telling you that the chest is no longer available.
Since treasure hunting doesn't require fighting monsters, it's a great activity to do after your Cross Field timer has run out.
The Guardian Ruins dungeon also occasionally spawns minibosses on random floors that you can challenge until it is defeated or the timer for that spawn runs out.
