Skill Information: Acquiring Skills | Transcending Skills | All-class Active Skills | All-class Passive Skills
Skills are a way to boost your character in battle. Active skills provide extra actions in a fight while passive skills provide a variety of boosts or buffs. Some skills are class-specific and some can be used by any class. See all-skill and class guides for more information on individual skills.
While you start out with a small number of skills per class, most skills need to be acquired in order to unlock and use them. Most skills also need to be leveled up in order to get the most benefit from them. All skills are learned or leveled up through the appropriate skill book, and there are multiple methods to acquire them.
There are several shops where you can purchase skill books, either with in-game currency or real currency.
You can earn domination medals for defeating bosses, primarily field bosses and world bosses These can be exchanged for a variety of skill books in the domination medal shop.
This shop includes a variety of all-class skills and class-specific skills. Be sure to access the shop from the class you want to acquire skills for in order to see the appropriate selection.
Books in this shop have weekly limits, so make sure to plan ahead if you want to buy a lot at once.
Normal skill books can now be exchanged for in the shop instead of with Muse, for the same rates as before (30 pages per book of the same type/rarity). This provides a permanent way to exchange normal pages for books without dealing with Muse's rotating selection.
Masterclass pages are rainbow colored "?" skill pages. They are sometimes event rewards, and can be farmed from high level chaos dungeons; they can also be purchased with real currency.
These can be exchanged for a variety of all-class and class-specific skill books. Be sure to access the shop from the class you want to acquire skills for in order to see the appropriate selection. During special events, the shop may stock limited-availability books.
Books in this shop may have a total exchange limit, so double-check before making a purchase.
You can purchase a premium 14-day login pass with real currency, which provides 14 days of login bonuses. The reward for the 14th day is your choice from a selection of all-class skill book. Once you have completed the battle pass, you may purchase it again to acquire additional copies of the same book or different books from the selection.
These skill books are unique to the battle pass, although rarely they may be provided as event rewards. A few of these books can also be acquired from Hyperboost.
A variety of bosses can drop skill books as rewards, or have exchange shops for them.
Higher levels of world boss have a very low chance to drop skill books. These are some of the same class-specific skill books as are available in the paid currency shop.
If you manage to get a drop for a skill book for a class that you don't want, you can use the masterclass skill page shop to swap that book for masterclass skill pages, which you can then invest in the skill book you actually want.
Each Dimension Border boss drops a specific all-class active skill book. You can also exchange boss souls drops (100 per book, limit 3). The battle pass for each boss also features the book as rewards at several different steps at both the basic and premium levels.
The Heroic Level dungeon has a second, all-class passive skill book, which can drop from the boss, be exchanged for purified boss souls, or be acquired from the battle pass.
In most later field zones, there is a monster per zone that can rarely drop trunks. These trunks themselves have a rare chance to roll a skill book, depending on which trunk you get. Different trunks have chances to roll different books, so check their list if you're unsure which ones you want to farm for.
Vintage trunks and other unsealed trunks can be rolled directly for low chances at a variety of books. Some trunks roll class-specific books for the class you are currently using, while others roll class-specific books randomly. Make sure to check its list in case you need to change class for the book you want.
Some trunks require a keycard to open, which can be bought from the shop for 50 diamonds each. These trunks tend to have a better loot table, and usually offer class-specific books for your current class or all-class books. Make sure to check its list in case you need to change class for the book you want.
Al Khemi, the alchemy pot djinn in Evermore, can sometimes have skill books available as the top prize during his raffles. These are typically class-specific books, and are always the tier 1 prize, meaning you have only a low chance of earning in the raffle (~5 are usually available vs ~1,000 of the tier 5 prize). If they're not for the class you want, you can still try to win one -- these books are tradeable with other players in Evermore for different class-specific books of the same tier.
Chaos Dungeons are full of zones with monsters who drop specific types of skill pages and skill books, with higher level books in higher zones.
Ancient Ruins, Sky Pirates Airship Facility, and Past Castle of Aquarius have normal skill pages and books.
Atrasia Citadel and Trainia Volcano have high quality skill pages and books.
Edge of Sagartha has high quality skill pages and books and masterclass skill pages.
Check the drop tables in each map to determine which zone you want to farm. Remember that if you are 8 levels or higher than the monsters in that zone, loot will not drop. If you have an alt at the appropriate level, you can use them to farm those zones, however.
Muse is an NPC who travels around different field areas and who offers many items to trade. She stays in a zone for 2 hours (this timing may be adjusted during special events), then she will move to another random zone and change her stock. You can always fast-travel to Muse's location by using the world map. Muse only appears in channel 1 of a field, but if fast-traveling to her, the game will automatically put you there.
Muse will carry a random assortment of high-quality skill books, one of each rarity. Some books cost 30 pages per book, and others cost 80 -- check the cost beforehand!
Muse no longer carries normal skill books -- these have been moved to a permanent skill book shop.
On the world map, the bag icon will show which field she is in, as well as how long she will remain there.
The field map will show her exact location, allowing you to fast-travel directly to her.
Muse's shop offers a random book at each rarity level. You can only acquire one book of each type per Muse stop (during special events you may be able to acquire 2 at a time.)
Muse will also offer a random element of 1* page, which can be exchanged for the same element of 2* rarity, limit of 10 1* pages per Muse stop. She will also exchange between 3* skill pages and 1* high-level skill pages.
Muse does not currently exchange between other rarities of pages.
Evermore has a special zone that allows players to set up their own shops. You can look at shops other players have opened, or set one up of your own. These shops allow you trade like items with other players.
Magic pages and books can be traded as:
1:1 page trade of same rarity, different type
For example, you can trade one 1* normal light page for one 1* normal passive page
1:1 book trade of same rarity, different type
Not all skill books can be traded in this manner. This mostly is for class-specific skill books acquired through trunks or the alchemy pot
12:1 page trade for a book of the same rarity
This exchange rate is for books that normally are exchanged for 30 pages
40:1 high quality page trade for a book of the same rarity
This exchange rate is for books that normally are exchanged for 80 pages
5:1 page trade to the next higher rarity, same type
For example, you can trade five 1* high-quality wood pages for one 2* high-quality wood page.
Page to page trades are good way to convert pages you don't want into ones you do want.
While the page to book trades are a much better deal than Muse, it requires another player to have a spare book and whom is willing to trade, so is not as reliable as Muse.
The zone in Evermore where players can set up shop is marked on this signboard; it is the southeast zone, between the entrance and eastern plazas.
There are a few books you can earn through your Kingdom.
Once your kingdom gets to level 5, all players are given the Potion Knowledge book.
If your kingdom finishes all their kingdom quests for the week, a skill book will be added to the kingdom's raffle shop for all members to try to win.
Clearing the Kingdom Dungeons at level 4 or higher will place skill books in the Kingdom's raffle shop for all members to try to win.
Participating in, and winning, some of the GvG battles, such as the Capitol Kingdom fight, can also reward you with skill books.
There are occasionally events which can reward you with skill books.
Roulette events have a wheel you can spin with a variety of prizes on offer, and occasionally include skill books. The chance for the skill book can be seen during the event (it has a much lower chance than most of the other prizes). If you spin the roulette a certain number of times, you can guarantee that you will get the book, but this usually costs many roulette tokens (which can only be bought with real currency once you exhaust your small set of freebies.)
During certain Field Boss Seasons, you can acquire specific all-class active skill books. These books can drop from the season field boss directly, but are usually acquired through the field boss season pass or through seasonal shop trade-ins.
Field Boss Seasons
Season 1: Stellia (Flash Wave skill book)
Season 2: Mechadragon (Shadow Flare skill book)
Season 3: Cockatracko (Flame Claw skill book)
Season 4: Giganti (Quantum Tornado skill book)
Season 5: Vulcan (Frost Cyclone skill book)
Field Boss Season Skill Book trunks are sometimes available as rewards, and can also be exchanged for domination medals (4,000 per trunk, limit 3 weekly), allowing you to level up these skills outside of each specific Field Boss season.
Marina, who runs the Money Ma'am shop in Evermore, sells a random selection of all-class and class-specific skill books for varying amounts of diamonds. Their selection changes every few hours, so you may need to check back later if the book you want isn't available.
Unless you're swimming in diamonds, this method is discouraged, as diamonds are better spent on items you can't get from farming.
