Toys are pieces of equipment you can put on familiars. They become available starting at level 43. Any toys or toy boxes you acquire before that time will not be usable.
A familiar has up to 3 toy slots available. Familiars at 1* or 2* have one toy slot; Familiars at 3* or 4* have two toy slots; Familiars at 5* or 6* have three toy slots. One benefit of evolving familiars is to increase its available toy slots.
Toys provide a small boost to certain base stats of a familiar. Higher rarity toys have skills that boost a familiar's performance in the game modes Familiar Search and Familiar Dueling Grounds. Some of these skills work for all familiars while others are specific to one type of familiar.
By selecting a familiar in the toy screen, you can view and change the toys it has equipped.
Note that you cannot change the toys on any familiar that is the middle of a mining operation in the Familiar Search game mode.
Equipping a familiar: In this screenshot, Puss'n'Boots has 2 toys equipped; the third slot is empty but available as it has the teddy bear icon instead of a lock icon.
Tapping on a toy will bring up its info screen, including info on its stats boost and skill (if available.) In this screenshot, this 4* toy has a skill specific to the Puss'n'Boots familiar. Tap the button at the bottom to select the toy to equip to your familiar, then chose which slot to add it to.
You can increase the star level of toys by fusing them. You can only fuse together toys of the same star level. Fusion will attempt to create a random toy at the next star level.
Fusing from 1* to 2* has a 100% success rate. Higher fusions will have decreasing success rates and increasing gold costs. The rate can be increased or guaranteed by using toy kit materials.
You will earn 1* toys as rewards from game modes and quests; fusing them in quantity can provide your familiars with useful boosts. Toys of higher star levels are less frequent rewards. Story episodes often have a small number of 4* toys that boost the story familiar which can be purchased with episode tokens or earned as episode pass rewards.
Fusion is the second option in the Toys screen. Once you select a toy, you can only select other toys of that star level. Select 3 to start a fusion.
1* to 2* fusion is guaranteed success.
Fusing past 2* has a decreasing success rate. For example, fusing 2* to 3* only has a 70% success rate.
If your fusion succeeds you'll get a random toy at the next star level.
If the fusion fails, you will get a random toy at the current star level and some lucky clovers (number of clovers depends on what fusion level you were attempting.)
Using toy kits will increase the success rate, up to a guaranteed rate of 100%. This does not increase the gold cost.
