The higher the rank the Cooking Witch is at the end of the fight, the better your rewards.

Fighting the Cooking Witch

The Cooking Witch is fire element, and some of her attacks have the chance to inflict the spicy debuff. If you are affected by this, run to and interact with the water barrels to the side of the stage to remove it. She has several telegraphed attacks.

  • Fire jet: Breathes fire in a long narrow column in front of her. Can inflict multiple hits of damage, dodge out of it.

  • Ladle slam: Smashes her ladle down in a small area in front of her.

  • Swinging arc attack: Swings her ladle in a short arc in front of her. Causes knockback.

  • Swinging round attack: Swings her pot and ladle around her in a wide sweeping circle. This attack lasts about 5 seconds so stay out of the range until it's done.

  • Pepper drop: Drops peppers down on the field in several different areas. Can inflict the spicy debuff.

  • Pillars of flame: Raises pillars of flame in a series of areas around her. Attack starts with areas nearest her and moves outwards, be sure to dodge out of the way or you could get hit multiple times. Causes knockback.

  • Cooking lesson: When the witch goes into low health mode, she will ask your party to gather ingredients to cook a dish. Along one wall a set of ingredients will appear; your party needs to touch the 3 ingredients asked for. They will always be 3 of the same type of ingredient (i.e. 3 carrots or 3 tomatoes.) If you touch the wrong ingredient, you will be briefly stunned. If your party succeeds in the timeframe, you'll get a bit of a buff; otherwise your party will be hit with a strong fire attack. [This attack does not appear in the solo challenge mode.]
