The Natural Health Ministries Education Center (NHMEC) provides education and professional formation in wellness stewardship, herbal support, and faith-centered holistic care.
This Scope of Practice Policy defines the appropriate role, responsibilities, and limitations of NHMEC graduates and registered practitioners.
The purpose of this policy is to:
• protect the public through ethical practice
• define professional boundaries
• promote responsible wellness support
• ensure legal and ethical compliance
• support integrity in ministry and community service
NHMEC practitioners serve in a wellness support and educational role.
NHMEC practitioners are trained to:
✔ provide wellness education and guidance
✔ support individuals in health stewardship practices
✔ teach herbal and natural wellness principles
✔ encourage lifestyle and wellness habits
✔ support spiritual, emotional, and wellness balance
✔ promote preparedness and resilience
Practitioners serve as wellness educators and support facilitators.
NHMEC practitioners may:
• educate clients on herbal stewardship and wellness practices
• teach preparation and safe use of common herbs
• provide wellness lifestyle guidance
• support stress reduction and healthy habits
• offer faith-centered encouragement and wellness coaching
• provide community wellness education and workshops
• assist clients in developing wellness stewardship plans
Services are educational and supportive in nature.
Practitioners may educate clients on:
• herbal teas and preparations
• traditional herbal uses for comfort and wellness support
• home apothecary stewardship
• nutritional wellness practices
• lifestyle and wellness habits
Herbal education emphasizes traditional use and wellness support.
Practitioners may provide:
• faith-based encouragement and support
• prayer support when requested
• spiritual wellness encouragement
• guidance rooted in biblical stewardship principles
Participation in faith-based support is always voluntary.
NHMEC practitioners do not:
❌ diagnose medical conditions
❌ treat disease or prescribe treatments
❌ practice medicine or provide medical advice
❌ perform clinical or licensed medical procedures
❌ recommend discontinuing prescribed medications
❌ present themselves as medical providers
Practitioners must clearly represent their role as wellness educators.
Practitioners are expected to refer clients to licensed healthcare professionals when:
• medical evaluation is needed
• symptoms suggest serious illness
• emergency care is required
• care exceeds practitioner scope
Responsible referral protects the client and practitioner.
NHMEC practitioners must:
✔ clearly identify themselves as wellness educators
✔ practice within training and competency
✔ avoid exaggerated or misleading claims
✔ respect client autonomy and dignity
✔ maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Integrity and honesty are essential.
Clients are responsible for their own health decisions.
Practitioners provide education and support to empower informed choices.
Clients are encouraged to consult licensed healthcare providers for medical care.
Practitioners must comply with all local, state, and national laws governing wellness services and herbal practices.
NHMEC training does not grant licensure to practice medicine or any regulated healthcare profession.
Practitioners serving in ministry, outreach, or community settings must:
• maintain appropriate professional boundaries
• provide education rather than medical care
• practice with compassion and respect
• uphold dignity and confidentiality
Service must reflect ethical stewardship and responsible care.
By practicing within this scope, NHMEC practitioners promote:
• public safety
• ethical integrity
• professional credibility
• responsible wellness stewardship
• trust within the community
Agreement to this Scope of Practice Policy is required for:
• practitioner diploma completion
• professional registry participation
• ongoing registry renewal
Failure to comply may result in review or removal from registry status.
