The Custom Herbalist Practitioner (CHP) Program is a structured Practitioner-Level Diploma designed for students who desire a personalized yet disciplined pathway into advanced herbal formation.
This program allows students to build a focused herbal education plan while meeting NHMEC’s established Practitioner-Level standards.
CHP is not casual study.
It is structured professional formation.
NHMEC programs are educational in scope and do not grant medical licensure.
The Custom Herbalist Practitioner Program is designed to:
• Integrate Levels 1–3 into a unified pathway
• Provide structured professional preparation

• Form practitioners in stewardship and responsibility
CHP moves from course accumulation to structured formation.
The CHP Program includes:
• Completion of Level 1 Foundations
• Completion of Level 2 Applied Studies
• Completion of Level 3 Advanced Herbal Formation
• Structured Practitioner-Level coursework
• Case study documentation
• Monthly live roundtables
• Monthly practicum sessions
• Capstone integration project
Students must complete all Practitioner-Level requirements within the four-year completion window.
To earn the CHP Diploma, students must complete:
• 1,500 documented learning hours
• 15 structured case studies
• Monthly roundtable participation
• Monthly practicum sessions
• Capstone project
• Signed Ethics & Scope of Practice Agreement
These requirements ensure academic integrity and responsible formation.

The CHP designation reflects completion of NHMEC’s internal academic standards and does not represent state licensure.
Graduates of the CHP Program may apply for the NHMEC Professional Registry upon meeting additional criteria, including:
• 200 practicum hours
• 30 documented client support encounters
• Continuing education commitment
• Signed Ethics agreement
Registry is separate from diploma completion.
