Effectively a 21700 cell Solo - very highly recommended
PAGE UNDER CONSTRUCTION
Sadly, the new generation of Aegis models have neither the robust build nor the variety of useful functionality. If you're looking for a Dimitri mod, then I strongly suggest trying to obtain at least one original Solo before stocks dry up completely. At the time of writing (Aug 2025), these are still widely available on UK ebay.
Note: we have a trusted trader on the Discord who can supply the Solo Orignal (and other recommended kit) to members almost wordwide. Ask on the Discord if you're interested.
Aegis Max V1 User Manual
See this page for a detailed description (scroll down to "Modes of Operation")
Power - My own testing has shown the overall performance to be exceptional in this mode
TC-NI, TC-SS, TC-TI, TC-TCR - Temperature controlled modes. Can be handy as an electrical contact confidence check but no longer recommended for general dimitri vaping
VPC - 1 second power intervals to 4 seconds
Bypass - unlikely to be used for Dimitri vaping
The Max In use
Pros:
A good range of useful modes. Unlike later Aegis models it's mercifully absent of annoying gimmicks
Unlike many other mods (Lost Vape Quest models, Z50, RigelMini, and Vandy Vape Pulse 3 and likely many others), it handles Stainless Steel meshes/coils seamlessly without affecting power delivery
Optional 18650 or 21700
Clear bright display contains all required information without extra button-presses and visible in shady external daylight
Simplicity and ease of use, works faultlessly right out of the box in every mode.
Incredible design/build quality, robustness and moisture resistance (see links below)
Rubber/plastic not cold to the touch in cooler ambient temps
Proven top tier temperature control performance (see links below)
Exaggerated asymmetrical design means easy hand orientation during "dimitri meditation"
Cons:
0.1W power increment is too small for my tastes, I would have prefered 0.5W. However, a long press on the up/down keys will select the next Watt up/down which I find to be a good compromise
Has USB-B charging port, no longer common on current generation of mods
Rubberised shockproofing on sides, rock-solid 510 faceplate mounting. IMO ideal.
The charge port is somewhat buried within the rubber shockproofing, which might be ideal for liquid ingress protection but means extra care needed when inserting the charge connector.
Dust tends to stick to the rubber shock-proofing exterior which renders an unsightly appearance
It has a monochrome display (personally, I prefer this because it makes a great "tripometer" - i.e. if I can still see any colour in the display, I know for sure I'm not yet fully back down to Earth!)
