Ten Essential Tips for Safety & Healing
Cultivating a long-term meditative healing relationship with your inner self
In my experience, safety and healing go together hand-in-hand as a long term unbreakable bond. Healing can take place over many years and a progressive mature attitude is essential to optimise and avoid potentially harmful practises which may stall progress towards a brighter future for ourselves and those around us.
Aim to start light and gradually build up - for noobs, learning the technique will likely enforce this for you, but not always. Even if you're experienced, consider starting each session with light pre-trips, and building the intensity to the desired level. This allows adjustment to the different headspace and helps settle any anxieties
Keep a safe set and setting - whatever makes you feel most relaxed and tranquil, that's the aim and this is your business alone. Be at peace.
A humble, loving and open attitude - will extremely well received during your sessions and will doubtless contribute towards a positive experience
A trip sitter? - I've never used one but if this makes you feel more relaxed and comfortable then yes - a trusted friend, spouse, sibling can be a great support to chat with afterwards even when things go perfectly
Avoid using alcohol to overcome pre-flight nerves - This can be tempting but I'd suggest caution. For me it removes the magic, and can even turn it negative in cases of excessive consumption. A little anxiety is expected and part of the experience is learning how to overcome this. See this video for tips on overcoming tripping anxiety
Avoid mixing other substances with Dimitri - Unless you're very experienced with the molecule I'd suggest not mixing with any other psychedelic or non-psychedelic medicine
Avoid dimitri when feeling unwell - One of my most negative experiences was when attempting to venture in when not fully recovered from Covid. It extremely unpleasant, so in the light of this I'd suggest fully recovering from lingering illnesses.
Reserve ample disturbance-free time - phone switched off, no parcels due, doorbell disabled, etc. Consider making a check-list to suit your lifestyle.
Build in a period on integration afterwards - think about the experience and what it has communicated to you. Build a plan of action for how you might be able to build the learnings into your life
Stay grounded - Your experience has gifted you with a greater responsibility to conduct your life in a more appropriate manner but nothing more. You may have new revelations about certain aspects of life and those around you, if so treat them wisely
