Ccell Palm (left), with the impressive Yocan Uni Pro
As soon as it arrived (almost fully charged) I threw a vape cart in, set the voltage to any old value and took a gentle toke. But the toke seemed a bit tasteless so I just kept going. But it wasn't long before I realised that things were getting intense and the whole room started going utterly beserk.
So it seems like if you have a good Voltage setting, the technique of diluting air from the corners of the mouth during a toke is not really necessary, or at least nowhere near as necessary. The vapour is quite smooth right out of the mouthpiece.
Be assured that from what I've seen of this device so far (1st day of owning) it's inexpensive, impressive and definitely very highly recommended.
Which is best? It's down to individual preference but ..
The Yocan works perfectly out of the box, but the Ccell needs to have the cart unscrewed a little or some other simple mod to allow a slightly better airflow.
The Yocan has a continuous readout of coil resistance so it's easy to tell if the connector needs cleaning, or maybe a slight twist or two to restore it.
The Yocan has adjustable Voltage, whereas the Ccell is fixed (at about 3.5V until it the battery drops to about 50% capacity
The Yocan stands up and is less prone to falling over than the Ccell. I like this because I like my carts to stand vertical for a minute before toking so the ejuice is guaranteed to have time to saturate the internal atomiser wick
The Yocan has a 15 second toking timeout compared to the Palm's 10 second. Not a major issue as they're both easy to reset. a reset is not really needed for the Yocan, but with the Palm I do a half second pause in toking after 10s before carrying on where I left off - to give longer full toke (albeit with a minor break in the middle)
So why might anyone prefer the Palm? Well because it's as simple as it gets. No fancy OLED display that I need my reading glasses for, no controls, not even a power switch. Plus it has the autodraw function - So you just drop in a cart and start sucking - as soon as you begin toking it starts working - and pretty darned well.Â
But as far as recommendations go, I'd say that if you think you can live without the autodraw, then go for the Yocan. I have 2 x Palms and two Yocan Uni Pros from Aliexpress.
Are my Aliexpress Yocans genuine? As far as I can tell yes, but who knows for sure. All I can say is that if it's a knockoff then it's a truly remarkable one. It seems far better quality that I was expecting for even the genuine version.
