Definition

It turns out that there is another way to measure the size of angles. The French revolution (1789 - 1799) saw the fall of the monarchy and it was also an opportune time to overhaul archaic systems like the imperial units (Eg. inches) for the new metric system (Eg. metre). During this time, there was an attempt by the French to also replace the Babylonian measure of angles (degree) with the metric angle, gradian.
