Circles

Success Criteria

At the end of this chapter, students are able to:

1. Describe a circle using terms like: (i) Centre, (ii) Diameter, (iii) Radius, and (iv) Circumference.

2. Investigate the the ratio of the circumference to diameter of a circle is a constant and that the ratio is approximately 3.14 (π).

3. Calculate the circumference of a circle given the radius or diameter.

4. Calculate the area of a circle given the radius or diameter.
