How to translate dragon

In the base dictionary (such as seen at mandoa.org), the closest are ulik (pack animal), bes'uliik (war droid that Mandalorians ride), and galaar (hawk).

Going into fanon terrority:

• ori'galaar uses standard words and grammar and means "big hawk"

• mandoa.ru has bes'ede for mythosaur and naas'taabas for snake

• kaab'orar (sound-thunder); Project Shereshoy

• tracy'aal (apparently, this is from the words for fire and breath); Project Shereshoy

• tracy'haalur (fire-breather); Oyu'baat

• dral'aden, shortened to dra'den (bright-rage); Mando'a Lessons

• shuka’den (crushing-rage); Mando'a Lessons

• werulik (eon-pack animal); source not saved

• wersenaar (eon-bird); source not saved

• senuliik (replacing the end of the word for bird with the word for pack animal, to make flying mount); from own idea list

• krayt (from the name of the Tatooine sand worm-creature); found in the Oyu'baat (in 2019 post), but could be common fanon

• The Children of the Watch called the giant pterodactyl-like creature on the planet where they were living a "shriek-hawk," which is jai'galaar in Mando'a; creature info: https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Shriek-hawk

Now that you've seen what others have done, which one you decide to go with depends on what you want it for. 

• Do you need the name of a creature? If it's something that's only found in the Mandalore system and hasn't been named yet, then pick whatever you think best describes it. If the name already exists in Star Wars material, then use that name, spelled with Mando'a phonetics, if you like. 

• Do you need a name or nickname for a person? Decide what's the most appealing characteristic of a dragon, and find an existing word that means that. Change the ending a bit, if you're using it for a personal name rather than a nickname.
