Google MyMaps
Description:
- Your own personal Google Map
- Draw or add shapes anywhere on the map
- Search and find places and save them to your map
- You have the ability to import your maps into a spreadsheet
- You can add your own style to it by making your own logos, adding pictures or videos wherever you want
- The power of sharing the map with others, on a website or blog
Step-by-Step Guide:
- In the search bar type in Google MyMaps then on its link.
- When it pulls log in using a Google email (Gmail).
- Since it is your 1st time click a red box that says "Create a new map."
- This map can be used just like Google Maps, however find a specific location.
- Under the map's search bar you will see buttons.
- From left to right the buttons are: Undo, Redo, Select items, Add marker, Draw a line, Add directions, lastly measure distances and areas.
- On the left side of the map you have a box that includes buttons that say: Add layer, Share, Preview. This box also includes your map's title and the layers it includes and their titles.
- The layers are information you can import into the map.
- At the bottom of the box on the left of the map shows a drop down arrow with the name "Base map." With this you can change how the map looks so there is 9 different ways the map can look.
