Google Meet is like a FaceTime app, but better. Similar to Google Hangouts, it is a super easy, free video call website and app. Meet, however, is meant to be more of a business-friendly alternative to Hangouts that can hold up to 25 participants.
Open the Hangouts Meet app.

Q: Is Meet only available on a computer?
You can use Meet on any computer, Android, iPhone or iPad device using the Hangouts Meet app.
Q: What's the difference between Google Hangouts and Google Meet?
The main difference is Google Hangouts can have up to 25 participants at a time, while Google Meet can have up to 50, but only using G-Suite Enterprise for a fee of $25 a month. For G-Suite Enterprise for Education, however, students, faculty, and staff only have to pay a fee of $4 a month.
You can also dial into a meeting and record a meeting in Meet, but not in Hangouts.
Students can use Meet to form group calls if they need to work on projects, homework, get notes from one another, etc.
Teachers can use Meet to set up conferences with parents, other teachers, principals, etc. They can even use it to have online class sessions.
Businesses can use Meet to have conferences.
