In our bid to simplify processes both in the office and in the field the new "Work Order' replaces the older, printed-on-paper work order. This has been designed to be easily edited by a mechanic (although it can be edited by office personnel as well with permission). What we're aiming for here is a far more interactive approach to sharing information pertaining to the job.
Work orders can be added from the 'View Truck Schedule' Screen. From here you'll have the option to add a new work order and will then be prompted to configure the work order. During this time you'll essentially be informing the mechanic of everything they'll need and what they'll be doing on the job site.
While out in the field the mechanic will be editing the work order with information pertaining to the job such as items/labor used, work performed codes, description of work performed, arrival and leave times, and for further information they can utilize detail sheets. Once all this information is entered the mechanic will then get a signature from the the client on site which can be signed via tablet.
Once a job is finished and the customer has signed the final steps are posting the work order (virtually locking the work order from further editing) and importing the work order for billing. After posting a work order you can immediately email a receipt to the customer (this further eliminates the need of paper out in the field). Importing the work order as a whole replaces what was previously the chore of shipping each individual line.
Below is a video providing a brief overview of how the new work orders function.
