We've added a new appointment calendar function to SMCP to help assist our salesman when out on sales leads. This recently added option will incorporate three new functions: SM Edit Appointment Calendar (1195),
SM Edit Appointment Calendar Groups (1196), & SM View Appointment Calendar (1194). The thinking behind this is similar to the truck schedule, it's much easier to track salesman productivity when seeing their visible location. Also, it's easier to deliver supplies to a mechanic (if needed) when you're able to see the path a salesman might be taking on a given day.
The process for creating an appointment should be started from SM Edit Sales Leads (1053) (though one can be created in a few other ways) as this is likely to carry the most important information into the appointment itself (though a an appointment can be made without this information). Once the sales lead has been filled out and a time has been established you'll select "Create Appointment" in the top right hand corner of the sales lead (which will open a new tab). From here you'll input all applicable information & once finished select "Update". Once this is done you can then select "View Appointment Calendar" and fill in the relevant information for your search.
While the most ideal location to add an appointment would be from a Sales Lead you can also do this from Display Order Information, and SM Edit Sales Contact ID (1074), or manually entering one on the Appointment Calendar screen.
The appointment calendar itself functions very similar to the truck schedule in it's overall display. From here much like the truck schedule you can also add an entry without it being attached to and order (or sales lead).
We've included a video that further explains the setup process and utilization of the Appointment Calendar Below:
Also of note is that once an appointment has been made whether it corresponds to either a Sales Lead, Sales Contact or an Order all of this information will display on those individual screens as shown below:
