IF you choose only to VIEW, the schedule will appear for those criteria you selected - each order number that appears will be a link to the 'View Order Information' screen. Mechanics are listed, alphabetically, down the left column, and the days (defaulting to a week) are listed left to right across the screen. Each entry shows the order number, the Bill-to Name, the number of hours charged to that entry on the schedule, and the 'order type' ('CS' for commercial service, etc.).
To use the truck scheduling functions, click on 'SM Truck Schedules' from the main menu. From here, you'll be able to choose a range of dates (defaulting to the current week), and a range of order 'types' (Commercial Installation, Commercial Service, Residential Installation, Residential Service) - and 'check' the locations you want. You'll also be able to 'check' whether you want to EDIT the schedule or just view it (if you don't have the permission to Edit Truck Schedules, you won't get the option to edit.)
ALL of the Truck Scheduling functions have now been moved into the SMCP system: there are no longer any truck scheduling, time logs, etc., in the Service Manager (Windows) program (We have templates available for time logs and DOT sheets if you decide you need to use them. Our recommendation is that, whenever possible, you enter job cost time AS IT HAPPENS - have mechanics call in to confirm 10-7 and 10-8 times, so that there's no 'extra step' involved in recording hours used from a written log later.)
Also - we've combined the Job Cost functions into the Truck Scheduling system: now you can add jobs to the schedule, copy them, move them around, AND record the mechanics' time on the jobs all from a single screen, in a single, streamlined function that works on your smartphone, tablet, OR your computer.
Additionally, you'll see the six 'one-click' links for moving entries around on the schedule - if you hover over any link, it will display a 'tool tip' explaining what it does, but here's a short list of all the 'edit' links on the SMCP Truck Schedule:
IF you choose to EDIT, the schedule will appear as before, but with the addition of some editing links: every time slot will have an 'Add job' link, for adding new jobs to the schedule, and the recorded hours will also be a link, for editing the current entry. Either of these links will present an edit screen, allowing you to set the date, mechanic, job number, add schedule comments, etc. This is also where you record job cost hours, add job cost comments, identify the type of work, and so on. Clicking to 'Update' the entry will return you to the updated schedule, exactly at the entry you just edited.
Add a job to the schedule by clicking the 'Add job' link on the mechanic and day you wish to add to.
Edit a scheduled item OR add job cost hours to an item by clicking on the 'hours' link in the middle of the entry (it might say, for example, "(0.00 hrs)" ).
To COPY a scheduled job to the PREVIOUS day, use the '<<' link, to COPY to the NEXT day, use the '>>' link.
To MOVE a scheduled job to the PREVIOUS day, use the '<' link, to MOVE to the NEXT day, use the '>' link.
To MOVE a job UP in the same day, use the '^' link,, to move it down in the same day, use the 'v' link.
