As part of the ongoing process to restructure AP we have implemented a scheduled reminders function in SMCP. This is built to operate outside the scope of AP as well for general needs. Much like previous applications you will be able to set reminders based on a daily, weekly, monthly or yearly time-frame. There's also an end of month option built in as well.
There are two scheduled reminder functions built into SMCP, 1169 is for personal reminder and 1168 will allow you to schedule reminders for others. Both screens are similar to one another with the exception of 1168 including a list of names to assign reminders to. A personal reminder could be set to check on critical dates, checking on follow ups on call sheets, checking sales reports, etc. Scheduling reminders for others would most likely be handled by managers and can in a sense act much like a regular TO-DO list for follow ups and similar things.
Below is an example of how Scheduled Reminders will appear on the users screen once they've loaded SMCP. If you'd like to acknowledge that you've seen the scheduled reminder, simply check the box and click "Acknowledge Selected Reminders". If you'd like to continue into SMCP without acknowledging the reminder you can click "Skip to Main Menu".
When creating a new scheduled reminder you will have a few important fields to fill out. First you'll create a Schedule Code, this could be something relative to the task you're assigning such as "February Invoicing16". After Schedule Code is completed you will fill in the Description, this is what will show up on the assigned individuals screen when they open SMCP. Following this you'll select the frequency of the reminder, as mentioned before this can range from Daily to Yearly. Lastly, select a start date for your reminder and schedule which users this will apply to.
