SMCP maintains a comprehensive log of system events, including log ins, uses of various functions, and several other events. For example, SQL queries are tracked for diagnostic and optimization purposes. The use of reports is tracked, and can be queried using the SM Query functions. Log entries include the user, date, time, an identifying 'category', and some unlimited size fields containing details about the event, usually including the exact SQL statement used for the operation. This log can be purged by log entry date using the 'Purge Data' function.
This log can be a useful management feature for tracking the regular use of different functions; for example it's easy to see if salespeople are checking their contact management reports, if managers are reviewing sales reports, and so on.
