The SMCP program now includes the ability to record UP TO four job site times for each schedule entry. These include:
1) The time the mechanic left the previous job (or the shop).
2) The time the mechanic arrived at the current job.
3) The time the mechanic left the current job.
4) The time the mechanic arrived at the next job (or the shop).
You can choose to limit which of these each mechanic can use, and you probably won't need them all, but these four should accommodate just about every possible policy for billing time on job sites.
1) 'SM View Mechanics Own Truck Schedule (50)' - this gives a mechanic to view his own schedule only. The system knows which is 'his' because his mechanics' initials are recorded in his user setup.
Here's a list of the permissions involved:
Each time is controlled by a separate permission - so if you only want him to record, for example, the time he arrived at the current job and left the current job, you will only give him those two permissions. If you do NOT want him to be able to edit the schedule itself, you would make sure he does not have that permission.
Here's how it's intended to work:
Each mechanic accesses the program using a smartphone or a tablet, for example, from the field. On his tablet, he's typically given a link that allows him to view HIS OWN schedule only (See the list of permissions below).
When he views his schedule, each entry shows the number of hours (in parentheses) entered for that schedule entry. If he clicks that number of hours (it's a link), he is then led to a screen in which he can enter his dates and times.
2) 'Edit Truck Schedules (60)' - this gives a user the ability to edit the truck schedule, to add jobs to the schedule, move them from day to day, etc., and to edit everything on the schedule entry, but NOT to enter any of the job site times.
3) 'SM Edit Site Time - Arrived at current (1132)' - this gives a user the permission to enter the time the mechanic arrived at the current job site.
4) 'SM Edit Site Time - Arrived at next (1134)' - this gives a user the permission to enter the time the mechanic arrived at the next job site (or the shop if he was finishing his last job).
5) 'SM Edit Site Time - Left current (1133)' - this gives a user the permission to enter the time the mechanic left the current job site.
6) 'SM Edit Site Time - Left previous (1131)' - this gives a user the permission to enter the time the mechanic left the previous job site.
