We've added a new function: SM Edit Location On Work Order Detail (1174) to SMCP. This new feature enables the mechanic to assign a specific location to each inventory item when allocating items on the work order. This feature can be turned on and off per user by a permission. Locations can be added and managed in the function Edit Locations (1017).
An example using this would be if you were to make an installation or service truck an individual location. In doing so it would have live and active inventory that could be used with work orders. Once finishing a job you'd then set the "Qty used" much like the example below. Any items not used would remain in that truck's inventory and could later be transferred into warehouse inventory if needed.
Lastly, when the work order is imported to be billed the items will be drawn from the inventory location that was set on the work order. However, if this function is not turned on the locations for each item will default to the order location on the order header.
