You can delete a salesperson when you no longer need it in your list. These are the places that will be affected, none are critical:
1) Sales leads - if you open a sales lead for a deleted salesperson, the salesperson code will still appear in the list of salespersons on the screen (but without a name) and you will still be able to save it that way. Or you have the option of changing it to an active salesperson.
2) Orders/quotes - just like on a sales lead, if you open an order for a deleted salesperson, the salesperson code will still appear in the list of salespersons on the screen (but without a name) and you will still be able to save it that way. Or you have the option of changing it to an active salesperson.
3) Sales Contacts - if you open a sales contact for a deleted salesperson, the sales contact will still appear, but the salesperson will appear as a blank.
4) When you delete a salesperson, it is also deleted from any customers for which it was the 'default' salesperson, and from any users for which it was the 'Default salesperson code'.
5) In the 'Critical Dates' report, the 'Assigned' and 'Responsible' fields will still hold deleted salespersons, and you may want to re-assign them. The 'Salesperson' ('SP') will be the current salesperson on the order.
6) Billing and Sales reports, as well as the Unbilled Contract Report, will still include any salespersons that it finds in any of the orders - so if a salesperson was deleted, but he is still on some old orders, his code will appear in the list, and you can still list his billings/sales from the past.
