1943: Pearl Harbour

While WWII rages across Europe, America remains neutral the conflict, choosing to sit this war out, after having witnessed the horrors of WWI. The Japanese, along with the endorsement of the Germans, decide that they will hit America where it hurts the most, when they least expect it.

Japanese fighter planes attacked at 7.55am, 7 December, 1941. It is the first attack on American soil since the British burned the White House during the American Revolution. It struck the very heart of the American people, and signalled the beginning of the end of WWII. The next day, America declared war against Japan, entering WWII and mass producing weapons at a rate that no other countries could compete with. It was only a matter of time until the war was won by the Allies.

"A day that will live in infamy"
