The Priory of Sion is one of the oldest secret societies and was founded in 1099. Its existence was not made public until 1982. So what secret is so important that it must be hidden for 883 years? As the legend goes, The Priory of Sion’s purpose is to protect and hide the holy grail from the Roman Catholic Church. When translated in Old French, the holy grail becomes sang real which means royal bloodline. The Priory’s mission is to reinstate that royal bloodline into power when the time is right.
