1837-1901: Queen Victoria

Queen Victoria sat on the throne of England for 63 years. She was the longest reigning monarch in English history. When Victoria came to the throne in 1837, she was only 18 years old.

Her reign would have a long lasting impact on the monarchy of England.

Queen Victoria reigned for 63 years, 7 months, and 2 days, from June 20 1837 - January 22 1901.

Victoria’s reign and the Victorian Age continue to have impacts on our world today;

  3. The Parliament has more power than the Monarch.
  4. Even though Queen Victoria was against women's rights, she became a role model of a strong woman for women everywhere.
  5. During Queen Victoria's reign, the British Empire expanded her reach via colonisation.
  6. Victoria was a Monarch that the people loved, she set a very high bar for her successors.
