1751: Voltaire

During the time of Enlightenment, there were many thinkers who changed the course of history. This is a story about one of these men. A man by the name of Voltaire.

His intelligence, wit and style made him one of France's greatest writers and philosophers.

He was a prolific writer, and produced works in every way possible; plays, poetry, novels, essays, historical and scientific works, over 21,000 letters and over two thousand books and pamphlets.

Voltaire is known for many of his memorable pieces of writing, and for this impact this had on changing the face of society in Europe and the rest of the world.

He knew that the pen had more power than any sword could ever wield.
